Katja gewinnt den Rhein Neckar Cup in diesem Jahr mit Siegen bei allen 5 Rennen. Der Cup hatte in diesem Jahr schon Ende Mai in der Pfalz mit der Kurzdistanz in Musbach begonnen, wo Katja in 2:18:2 h vor Kathrin Paetzold 2:24:36h, und Heidi
Jesberger 2:26:17 h gewinnt.

Katja won the Rhein Neckar Cup 2007, she won all 5 races from May till the end of Aug. The Cup started only two weeks after Katja’s win at the 70.3 race in Florida with the short course race in Musbach, a town in the wine region Pfalz, where Katja won in 2:18:21 in front of the German national duathlon champion Kathrin Paetzold 2:24:36 h and Heidi Jesberger 2:26:17. Heidi was 3rd at the German Championships earlier in the year.

Das 2. Rennen die einzige Mitteldistanz der Serie in Maxdorf gewinnt Katja mit neuem Streckenrekord in 4:20:02 vor Sandra Kruecke 4:35:36 h.
Danach geht es am 21. Juli mit dem Roemerman, dem Heidelbergman am 5. Aug und dem Viernheimer V-Card Traithlon wieder auf gewohnte Strecken. Katja gewinnt alle 3 Rennen und hat somit in der Cupwertung 2007 nicht einen Punkt abgeben mussen.

The second race is a Half Ironman in Maxdorf, where Katja sets a new course record and shares the winners podium with Norman Stadler (Ironman World Champion), who wins the men’s race. She finishes in 4:20:02, 15 min before Sandra Kruecke in second. The next 3 races are the same as the years before, all extremely hard and hilly bike courses thought the beautiful Odenwald. July 21st Roemerman, Aug 5th Heidelbergman and on Aug 26th the V-Card triathlon in Vierheim. Katja wins all 3 races and wins the cup with the highest possible score.

Katja’s Fazit: “Natuerlich bin ich sehr mit meinen Leistungen in diesem Jahr beim Rhein Neckar Cup zufrienden, Kathrin Paezold 2. Platz (Deutsche Meisterin im Duathlon) ist eine sehr gute Radfahrerin und Laeuferin, ich bin froh sie bei allen Rennen auf Distanz halten zu koennen.Und auchHeidi Jesberger ist eine super Triathletin und national und international einen guten Namen.
Ein neuer Streckenrekord in Maxdorf und die Zeiten in Musbach,Vierheim und Ladenburg waren gut, in Heidelberg war ich nicht so fit. Aber Vierheim 3 Wochen spaeter mit einer schnelleren Rad- und Laufleistung als im letzten Jahr hat mir gezeigt, dass es nur ein schlechter Tag war und ich in Form bin.

Katja: “I am very happy with my performances this summer at the Rhein Neckar Cup. Kathrin Paetzold (2nd place) is a great biker and runner and I am lucky that I was able to hold her of at all the races. Heidi (3rd place) is a great competitor.
A new course record in Maxdorf and the times in Musbach,Ladenburg and Vierheim where good. I hit a low point at Heidelbergman, but a faster run and a faster bike time. That last year in Vierheim 3 weeks after Heidelbergman lets me believe it was only a bad day and I am in shape.
The Rhein Neckar Cup races are perfectly organized and the demanding, hard bike courses make them fair and fun. I am glad we have such great triathlon events in our region.

Living only 200 yards from the start and finish at Heidelbergman and within 45min of the furthest race is like racing in my back yard, I know the courses train here every day thought my live and have all my friends and family there to support me, I love it!!!
